10kV composite polymer pin insulator is the oldest type of insulator in high voltage transmission and distribution lines. Due to its simple manufacture, low cost, easy installation and the ability to reduce the height of the tower (due to the vertical installation of the insulator, the grounding part is below), it is widely used for insulation and supporting conductors in high-voltage overhead power lines in common and polluted areas where the nominal voltage of three-phase power system is 6 ~ 35kV and the frequency does not exceed 100Hz. The pin insulator is composed of an insulating part and a steel pin, which is a rigid insulator with a steel pin fixed inside the insulator to install the insulating part rigidly on the support structure.An insulator may consist of one or more insulating parts permanently connected to each other.
